INTERIOR DESIGN OF A HOUSE WITH AN ATRIUM – GLIWICE

Area: 280m2

The interior design of this single-family home stands out for its originality. The clients commissioned the design from the architectural firm Inosudio in Gliwice and invited me to collaborate on the construction phase of the house. This allowed me to make changes early on that helped the residents meet their expectations for the rooms. Together, we analyzed their needs and set priorities for me to follow during the design process. This allowed us to optimize functionality and make the residents feel comfortable in their beautiful home.

The single-family house is designed for a family of four. The clients wanted bright, minimalist interiors in a limited color palette. The main accent and decoration in the interiors is a beautiful tree that grows in the heart of the building in the atrium, separated from the rest of the rooms only by glass panes. This gives the interiors a unique character, thanks to the colors of the leaves changing with the seasons and the light that enters the interior through an opening in the roof and the atrium. On the ground floor, there is a large, open living area with a kitchenette and dining room, a master bedroom with a bathroom, a guest bathroom, and a study. The white floors are finished with epoxy resin and the walls are painted white, while the furniture is designed in a very minimalist and modern style. The accessories break up the whole. A large wooden family table brings the household together during meals, and paintings by Iwona Bilska adorn the walls. Cantilevered stairs lead to the first floor, where the children's bedrooms and a bathroom with a sauna are located. This area is intended for the younger members of the household, whose rooms are connected by external terraces running along the atrium. The "House with an Atrium" was among the 20 best houses in Poland nominated in the "Polish Architecture 2016" poll. https://sztuka-architektury.pl/gallery/details/338 Second place in the online vote for "the house with an atrium" nominated among the 20 best private house designs in the Polish Architecture 2016 poll on the Sztuka Architektury portal. The architectural design was created by the Inostudio office. http://www.inostudio.pl/dom-jednorodzinny-z-atrium The photos were taken by Marcin Grabowiecki.
