Smart Space Management: Efficient Design for Small Apartments

This apartment was designed for a couple from Warsaw who love Gdańsk and often visit the city. The project had to meet several requirements specified by the clients: it needed to feature a warm color palette and create a cozy atmosphere, so that they would feel at home upon arrival. The base color chosen was a cool beige, which was used for the walls, kitchen cabinetry, bathroom tiles, and the wardrobe in the bedroom.To keep costs down, the clients wanted to avoid overspending on the decor. We found savings by opting for a ready-made wardrobe in the bedroom and sourcing kitchen cabinetry from a popular home décor store. Despite the budget constraints, we achieved a result that satisfied both me and the clients. After the completion of the project, they expressed joy at the apartment and look forward to returning to it.
The apartment includes a living room with an open kitchen, a bedroom, a hallway, and a bathroom. Although 40m² may seem small, we successfully created space for a washing machine in the bathroom cabinetry and a closet in the hallway for jackets, making the apartment comfortable and ergonomic. A standout feature is the built-in unit under the TV, which serves as both a cabinet and a clever cover for the radiator.The owner wanted the nightstands to resemble tree stumps, and the bedside lamps to evoke the shape of oil lamps, adding a personal touch that beautifully complements the apartment's style. In the bedroom, the wall behind the bed is adorned with a round decal inspired by watercolor painting, featuring colors that are repeated throughout the apartment, including in the posters above the sofa and the cushions, as well as the chairs at the table.
